In this episode of FUEL, a new series dedicated to the high-performance diets of athletes, we follow Robert Oberst—aka Obie—one of America’s leading professional strongmen, holder of the American record in the Log Lift, and eater extraordinaire. In an average day, Obie consumes 15,000–20,000 calories to power himself through hours of punishing training. From the gym to the kitchen, Obie shows us the kind of fuel he needs in order to stay at the top of his sport.

man, i’m gonna go broke if i eat like this guy…
6:03 battle of the beards
The only thing that shocked me out of this whole video is that the cashier
at the foods store is allowed to have a full beard!
I think I found my new idol! LOL This dude is cool as hell!
Cool guy but DAMN that 64 years old lady looks amazing! Can’t believe that
she is that old ^^
The strongest men are always the kindest and most genuine. Undoubtedly
something to do with having nothing to prove.
If i were to see this guy on the street i would think it would be some
redneck racist. But man have i ever been so wrong, fuck society for fucking
up my vision for people this guy is so humble and down to earth
Kudos to this beast. I wish I could eat 20000 calories a day. I barely get
to 2000
Hahaha such a powerful jolly chap yet so charming. .Didn’t expect him to
banter with the lady like that. Best combo ever. And you have “hardasses”
who don’t smile yet can’t lift 1/3 the weight he does.
Such a nice guy. I just wouldn’t take my eye off my fridge if he was over.
29 years old? Motherfucker looks 59
He has a Dark Brotherhood (The Elder Scrolls) tattoo, really awesome and
funny guy :D
I don’t wanna be that guy but…Although this food is very carb, calorie,
and protein dense, it is not necessarily good fuel. MOST of this food is
NOT high quality, natural, organic, and or unprocessed. Everything he buys
look like it’s the cheapest of the cheap you can buy at a store, or close
to it. All the meat he buys looks like it’s Jenny-O or some generic store
bought brand, and the noodles and sauces he buys look like the cheap
storebrand kinds aswell, in fact; he’s using Great Value for noodles, the
in-store Walmart brand. I wouldn’t say he’s eating GOOD fuel at all, just a
lot of REGULAR fuel. It looks like he just buys a generic American diet in
bulk (with the exception of some cheap spinach), not necessarily ‘good
things’.. ‘good fuel’
vince vaughn is a fuken fagget
He eats as much as 10 grown men do… in a day.
I bet he craps… so much
Not 20,000 calories. Still A LOT but probably closer 8-9000 calories.
If this guy went vegan he could compete with the actual worlds strongest
man, who IS VEGAN!
Look him up. It’s a fact
He looks tons better than this guy too
Patrik Baboumian
Not only that but he could eat 15k+ calories for way cheaper than 500+ a
week.
He needs to hit up BJs or some wholefoods store and pack in the rice,
beans, bananas, dates, etc
It’s a shame really. Wish i was his trainer
What self-respecting person uses Ragu?
I’ve never seen anyone rock the pink shirt like this guy. Props!
The steroids weren’t mentioned…….wonder why……
6’8″ 400lbs, epic beard
He must be the ultimate man!!
Why do so few strongmen do mild/moderate cardiovascular exercise? It
increases blood flow to the muscles and decreases size gains (allowing one
to lift more). It also doesn’t have an effect on strength gains. Muscle
only breaks down at about 70% maximum intensity and high volumes.
Anyways, I think this guy is really cool 🙂 Too many lifters are
egotistical dickheads, and the fact that this guy is so down-to-earth,
friendly and funny will make me think twice about judging the
‘heavy-lifting’ types.
I think this guy doesn’t know how to count. Even at 400LBS, he would never
eat more than 8000 calories per day.
