There are lots of DIY cosmetic recipes out there that are total flops. But these 12 (and one bonus) are total keepers!
1) Deodorant: Use equal parts coconut oil, baking soda & arrowroot powder. Melt coconut oil in microwave or double boiler just until thin and remove from heat. Mix in dry ingredients until fully incorporated. Store in container and use pea-size amount for under arms ((note: be cautious about using this immediately after shaving. It burns!))
2) Perfume: 100% pure essential oil of choice (make sure it’s not a skin irritant before using!!). Rub a single drop on wrists and temples.
3) Toothpaste: Baking soda! Scoop a pea-sized scoop onto toothbrush and brush away! ((Concerned about enamel erosion? Check out this article: http://www.collective-evolution.com/2013/07/11/is-baking-soda-a-good-alternative-toothpaste/ ))
4) Mouthwash: Mix 2 cups warm water with 10-12 drops peppermint essential oil plus (optional) 1 T baking soda. Use like normal mouthwash.
5) Shampoo: Mix 1 T baking soda with 1 cup warm water. Shake until dissolved, then pour onto scalp and massage all over. Rinse and follow with conditioner recipe below. (read this post for in-depth details and troubleshooting)
6) Conditioner: Mix 1 T Apple Cider Vinegar with 1 cup warm water. Shake until mixed, then pout onto roots, avoiding the scalp, and rub in. Rinse well (you will NOT smell like vinegar after rinsing!).
7) foundation: start with several tablespoons arrowroot powder, and slowly add cocoa powder, 1/4- 1/2 teaspoon at a time, mixing well, until desired shade is reached. Test on wrist and face often, because a little cocoa goes a long way!
8) Body wash: Same as shampoo
9) Face wash: Same as shampoo (Can also use regular baking soda NOT mixed in water as an exfoliator)
10) Face wash II: Wet face and hands. Massage 1-2 teaspoons honey all over face using gentle, circular motions for several minutes (it will be soft, not sticky). Rinse and enjoy soft skin!
11) Face wash III: Heat a wet washcloth in the microwave for 1 minutes. While face and hands are completely dry, massage about 1 tablespoon coconut oil all over face. Once washcloth is cool enough to be handled, lean head back and lay cloth over entire face for about 1 minute. Relax! This is the good part!
Next, gently rub oil off face with washcloth, making sure not to rub too hard. Pat face dry and rub any excess oil into skin.
12) Lotion: Use coconut oil just like regular lotion.
BONUS) Baby wipes: Mix together 2 cups warm water with 1 T regular shampoo (not the DIY kind!), 1 T coconut oil, 1 t baking soda and 1 t apple cider vinegar. Pour mixture over a roll of paper towels cut in half width-wise. Allow to soak 5 minutes, then remove cardboard middle. Pull wipes from the center for pop-up effect. Keep in air-tight container to keep wipes from drying out.

The intro failed! I’m so sorry!
What is the point of a all vegan makeup video when you zoom out and focus
on a short dress from a looking up angle wide shot where you cant see
anything (For example 7:08). Some people are ripping on the people talking
about the dress, but it makes sense. They just did not know how to word it.
It is the shots and angles in which are shown. It is just not appropriate
for the subject of the video. If the subject of the video is the makeup,
focus on your face and the makeup.
DIY makeup, make your own cosmetics from 100% natural ingredients that are
good enough to eat 🙂 Feel free to share this video on with friends or
family who could benefit from going natural x

This is AMAZING!! So simple and beautiful! And gorgeous colours! Those are
the colors I usually look for in my makeup! I’m definitely going to get
some beet and blueberries and give it a try. Thank you so much for sharing!
You look beautiful!
This is amazing. I would love to try it. ignore the haters comments and

Hi, I was just wondering what your opinion on the sanitation of using fruit
juices as a natural makeup is? I love the idea of going organic with makeup
but as an esthetician I also see the downsides (particularly around the
eye are). Have you ever experienced problems with using natural makeup?
I can’t make out what you’re saying to use instead of cocoa powder. Sounds
like rocket cow powder, but obviously it’s not rocket cow powder. Can you
please help me? I love your accent by the way.
I like the idea of all natural makeup and I applaud you for making this
info available to everyone, but I want super full and bold colors and this
only gives you translucent light shades of color. That’s not to say I might
not try it again on a day when I really don’t feel like putting makeup on
(which is almost never) but I also only want high pigmented long lasting
colors and this just did not do it for me. My skin did suffer as I’m very
prone to breakouts so it broke my cheeks out. It also looked like you kept
licking the beetroot off your lips rather than smooshing your lips to
spread the color. And vampy? Ha! If you can’t get full coverage, pigmented
color instead of translucent shades how are you going to get vampy? Second
of all I’m concerned about pop culture and trends ruining the term vampy
(or vamp) to describe everything they believe to be “edgy” or
“darker”…because to those of us in the alternative lifestyles who are
“edgy” and “darker”, that absolute tiniest bit of blueberry didn’t even
come close to making anything look remotely “vampy” (in any of the word’s
many definitions).
is the blueberry juice sticky on your eye lids?
Definitely will be trying this!!!
Or you could just go onto ecodivabeautys website or vitacost and get some
great natural and organic products that arn’t going to go off really
quickly, come in great shades and actually have some amazing benefits to
them.
I don’t think walking around with food on your face is ideal or will stay
for that long either.
rather keep my fruits & veggies for cooking.
This lady is really full of herself…
I just tried this, but didn’t have the shea butter. I’m brunette with
green eyes & my face looks gorgeous. The turmeric really gave me a
beautiful glow & the blueberry made my eyes pop. Thank you – I’m sold!
wait how can I pack this to take along with me to places, you always have to
keep the fruit in the refrigerator or it will rot,how can I take this with
me without always keeping it in the refrigerator?
Arent blueberries acidic? if they stay for a long time on your skin it is
not good. Isnt it just like putting lemon on your face It is good for 15
min, but afterwards you have to wash it off, because of the acid.
